I do get a sense from Australian & British GP practices that they have to follow guidelines and protocols, regardless. I usually come away with the feeling my doctor is just following rules, rather than treating ME! And they think nothing of resorting to Google to check things, and can't even read an x-Ray, which is pretty important, y'd think when your patient has multiple fractures... I've always felt a reverence towards medics for their superior Knowledge, hard work and the fact (I Assumed) how they kept abreast of medical advancements by reading & assimilating multiple studies and papers. I always expected them to be up-to-date with the latest medical discoveries... I did not take the recommendation. Thank you, it is refreshing to hear a Dr actually think for themselves. I have completely lost my trust in medicine. I do not want any part of it. Not a great place to be, however , the experience has opened my eyes and made me more vigilant.

As a Canadian in the US with the best PPO insurance, I have learned the hard way 1) Go to Dr as little as possible. Do your own research and be prepared for the Dr to fear monger you and make you feel powerless (you are not) 2) always ask the price of any test they take first (nasal swab for a sore throat, vaccine for child). Unfortunately, it's a business here in the US and you have to shop around. I've rejected many tests and treatments and later found they were either much cheaper elsewhere or utterly useless. 3) Be your own doctor as to the doctors in the US you are nothing more than a customer

I had this happen to me a couple of months back. I went in with symptoms of sudden onset weakness. When they did the blood work initially, they diagnosed my cause as being low potassium. They also said my blood sugar was high (176), with low platelets and white blood cells. Thing is, I had just had a few bites of food before I went in. After another blood test or two at half hour or one hour intervals later, my blood sugar showed signs of dropping to and settling at normal levels. The other two issues I had to follow up on with a hematologist who repeated a blood test a month later and said all my numbers were normal. He said those numbers go down when you’re fighting an infection, which I had been doing at the time I went in. All those needle sticks really sucked though😔.

My recent cholesterol tests have all been non-fasting samples. Even so, my levels are only slightly high. However, one doctor wanted to put me on statins. My father took them, they didn’t prevent his heart attack and probably gave him diabetes. No thanks, I’ll be passing on the drugs.

This one is horrible and not for the faint of heart. I was in the hospital for thyroid nodules or whatever they are. Basically, they slit your throat from ear to ear and go in. Fun scar if you get it done near Halloween. Pre surgery blood work said I had a particularly nasty STD! Called Hubby, screaming ensued. Hubby insisted he was innocent, came in got tested. NOTHING. Tested me again. NOTHING! Did we get an apology? NOTHING. Nearly ruined our marriage, broke both our hearts and ruined a young couples trust for NOTHING. It took a week to get the new results and they already had me on meds and delayed the surgery. And no apology. Not even a "well, these things happen"!

I'm vax 3x and my kids are 2x, we are all fine. Spaced them out as much I could. No more of course ..

Happens to me every time there is a full moon, blue moon, new moon, etc, I get the worst insomnia!

I went to the ER due to passing a kidney stone. They measured my glucose (I was fasting) at 140. When I saw my GP she told me I was diabetic. I asked her if the glucose might have been so high because I was experiencing severe pain. She said, "No! YOU ARE DIABETIC!" My morning fasting glucose is typically 95 or lower. Some physicians are chomping at the bit to make a hasty diagnosis and are ignorant of physiology.

Unfortunately this is standard practice for most doctors, and has been for at least 20yrs - from my experience, doctors have become sheep. As a patient i have tried to challenge doctors that i have seen, to do better. but they are not interested it the science behind the issues. Just follow orders, that's all they know. Especially at hospitals.

It drives my parasites. And they drive me bonkers. They are active all the time, & particularly at night, but over Full Moon they are manic! As most of us have parasites - whether we are aware of them or not - then it’s not surprising that people are affected by it so much. Sadly, the Medical Profession knows diddly squat about parasites, & what little they do know is totally wrong. So they do not take this issue seriously. If your dog has a health issue, parasites may be the first thing a vet may consider - he might even give parasite drugs ‘just in case’, but they are not even on the Medical radar. “Have you been abroad lately?”. No, & neither’s the dog, but he can get them! No - it’s not a ‘foreign’ issue. They are just as rampant & easily acquired in our society-called ‘civilised’ countries. The only difference between us & ‘foreign’ countries is that they are far more aware of them than we are……..

Most Physicians are nothing more than whores for Big Pharma. I was told by a Physician's Practice Officer Manager that the Physicians were getting $50 per prescription per month. I'm sure that is pretty standard practice.

As a general principle, I start from the assumption that anything the hospital tells me is probably wrong.

A few years ago, I stepped into a sinkhole in a parking lot. In the emergency room, they found that I sprained my foot and ankle. Talking with the nurse, we laughed about it being Friday the 13th. I've had six back operations over the years. The last diagnosis is called "flat back syndrome." My problem is that after about 100 yards of walking, my lower back and buttocks spasm to the point of having to stop. I've done everything possible to alleviate and correct this issue.
